Javier “Pavi” Ponce, 35 year old Hollis resident passed away November 17, 2016 at the United Regional Medical Center in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Pavi was born in Mexico on October 16, 1981 to his parents Lorenzo Ponce and Maria Elisa Duarte. In Hollis Pavi worked on the farms and cattle ranches and most recently at the Motley Gin. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hollis and he enjoyed working with animals and listening to music.

Preceded in death by his father; and several aunts and uncles; Pavi is survived by his mother Maria Elisa Duarte of Mexico; four brothers, Julian Duarte and wife Charlotte of New Mexico; Martin Ponce and wife Stephanie Gutierrez of Hollis; Carlos Ponce of Hollis; and Lorenzo Ponce and wife Karina of Mexico; two sisters, Irene Ponce and husband Sergio Silva of Mexico; and Laura Ponce and husband Osman Jesus Avitia of Mexico; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis with Father Swammy officiating.

Interment will be at the Panteon Municipal Cemetery in Mexico.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis.
