Betty Lou (Stewart) Poe

October 12, 1928 ~ April 2, 2016

Betty Poe, 87 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Woodward. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Betty Lou (Stewart) Poe was born on October 12, 1928 in Fargo, Oklahoma to Claude Herbert and Lula Annie (Adams) Stewart. She grew up on the family farm west of Fargo and attended Fargo schools, graduating with the class of 1946. Betty was united in marriage to Lloyd Poe on February 3, 1947 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They were blessed with four children.

Betty received her LPN degree in 1963 and she worked as an OB Nurse at the Woodward Hospital for 18 years and the Newman Memorial Hospital for six years. Betty loved being with her family and later in her life she enjoyed going to the Senior Center and having lunch with the girls.

She is survived by three sons, Merle Poe and wife Barbara, Mike Poe and wife Cathy, Kenny Poe and wife Linda; one daughter, Debbie Ingraham and husband Kevin; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles and Herb Stewart; four sisters, Gladys Barker, Rosa Story, Leona Barnes, and Maxine Covalt.
