Joan Lee (Goodwin) Pittman

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Mrs. Joan Lee Pittman, 71, of Connerville, Oklahoma. Mrs. Pittman passed away on November 23rd, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma. At Mrs. Pittman's request, her family chose cremation.

Joan was born on April 7th, 1942 in Ada, Oklahoma to James Walter Goodwin and Lona Evanna (Beene) Goodwin. She married Elmer Roger Pittman on July 11th, 1961 in Ada and had lived in Johnston and Pontotoc Counties all of her life. She worked for several years as an aide at the Lawnview Nursing Home in Tishomingo and later as a care giver for home health.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nora Pittman; two grandsons, Alton Lowe and Eric Tisdell and a brother, Tim Goodwin.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by her husband Roger, of the home; two daughters, Polly Hammond of Ada and Johnna Dixon of Connerville; her son, Bland Pittman of Ada; her sister, Elizabeth Rucker of Cartwright, Oklahoma; two brothers, Edward Walker and Presley Walker, both of Durant, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
