Lucille Evelyn (Wood) Piehl

Lucille Evelyn (Wood) Piehl died at Oakdale Heights Rest home in Bakersfield, CA., December 23, 2004. She was 83. Lucille was born in Binger, Oklahoma April 26, 1921. She was the fourth of eleven children born to Jim and Bessie Wood. Lucille married her beloved husband, Stanley in 1947. They were married for 43 years and lived in the San Fernando Valley area. Lucille worked for Lockheed during the WW II helping build airplanes for the war. She later owned and operated her own Beauty Shop for many years. After her husband's death in 1990 she moved back to Bakersfield to be near her family.

Preceding Lucille in death were her brothers, Henry and Chester Wood and sister, Betty Lake. Lucille is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Lillie Woods, Beulah Hughes and James (Buster) Wood all of Old River, CA; Frances Ross of Apple Valley; Ed Wood of Bakersfield; Olen Wood of Olympia, Washington and Bobby Wood of Bakersfield. She leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Chapel services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., Wednesday, December 29th 2004 at 10:00 A.M.
