Murl Dean Phillips, Sr.
October 26, 1927 ~ January 11, 2017

The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Murl Dean Phillips, Sr., 89, of Roff, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Roff City Hall.

Mr. Phillips died Thursday, January 11, 2017 at his home. He was born October 26, 1927 near Roff, to Charles Alec and Rachel Hobgood Phillips.

He married Wanda Jean King on September 3, 1947. Mr. Phillips served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan and Korea. He also served in the U.S. National Guard. He was a mechanic and truck driver and he also served on the Roff City Council and Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife Wanda of the home; two sons, Murl Dean, Jr. and wife Rachel of Stratford and Earl Gean and wife Allie of Austin, TX; one sister, Mary Lou Mays of Roff; two brothers, Charles Robert Phillips of Springer and Gene Harley Phillips of Roff; five grandchildren, Murl Dean Phillips, III, Jason Wyatt Phillips, Christopher Eugene Phillips, Earl Phillips, Jr. and Kimberly Dyan Phillips and seven great-grandchildren.
