Rowena Blanch (Elkins) Phelps

June 4, 1932 ~ December, 2003

Rowena Blanch Phelps joined our Lord on December , 2003. She was born June 4, 1932, in Stigler, Oklahoma as Rowena Blanch Elkins, the daughter of Bonnie and Wesley. She spent the majority of her life in the local Stigler area until 1955 when she moved to Bakersfield. After several years in the Bakersfield area, Rowena and her husband, Travis Phelps, moved to the Louisiana/Arkansas area where they lived until recently. Rowena had recently returned to Bakersfield with Travis to once again be near her children and sister.

Rowena is survived by her husband, Travis; her adult children, Dearl, Linda and Sherry; her sisters, Sue and Imagene. Her grandchildren number 7, Greg, Kimberly, Darin, Carrie, Jason, Chesni and Ramey; great grandchildren are Jorden, Ciera, Ramey and Ivy.

Services will be held by Mallory Funeral Home in Stigler, Oklahoma, and will be her final resting place. Donations may be made to the local Red Cross as blood donations for others during the holidays.

The family wish to thank the physicians and the entire nursing staff of Bakersfield Heart Hospital for their caring attention and devotion to the treatment and care of Rowena during the struggle with her health.
