Rita (Kehn) Peterson

Rita (Kehn) Peterson
Sept. 22, 1952 ~ Jan. 1, 2017

The Celebration of Life service is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan.7, 2017, at the Central Christian Church in Fairview. The Rev. Ronnie Hopkins, the Rev. Nathan Twyman and the Rev. Jody Schmidt will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Rita Kay Peterson was born Sept. 22, 1952, in Fairview to Elmer and Dorthy (Chesley) Kehn, and went to be with her Heavenly Father Jan. 1, 2017. Rita grew up in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1970. She met Wesley Peterson at the Mug and Jug in town, and they were married on Jan. 8, 1971, in the Isabella Nazarene Church. The couple made their home in Fairview and soon was blessed with their first son Greg. Five years later, they were blessed with their second son, Troy. Rita never had idle hands. She stayed busy working all around town.

A few of the places she worked include Andy Stewart, WalDon, Vinton Baker Ford and the Sooner Co-op. For the last 15 years, she worked for the city of Fairview as the payroll clerk and human resources manager. Rita loved to read and spent time each evening doing so. She enjoyed a good garage sale. Rita loved life in general and most importantly, God, her husband, children and her grandchildren. She will be missed by all her many friends and all who knew her.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Marcus Peterson; and one brother, Marvin Kehn, and a sister, Sara Ann Fenwick.

Left to cherish her memory are: her beloved husband, Wes, of the home; sons, Greg and Danita Peterson and their daughter, Alisha Peterson, of Fairview, and Troy and Denise Peterson and their children, Trexler, Declan and Denae, all of Enid; brother, Arnold Kehn and sister, Lela Graham, both of Fairview.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella Nazarene Church, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
