MaryLou (Slocum) Peterson
Feb. 2, 1938 ~ Nov. 9, 2013

HUGOTON, Kan. - MaryLou Peterson, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at her home in Enid, Okla. She was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Sublette, Kan., the daughter of Paul and Mary (Tyler) Slocum. On Aug. 28, 1955, she married Bill Peterson in Sublette, Kan. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2000. She was a homemaker and coowner of Peterson Trucking in Hugoton. She made Enid her home for the past 11 years. She had a deep love for God and was strong in her faith and walk with Christ. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Hugoton and First Assembly of God Church in Enid.

She loved spending time with her family, cooking large meals for the holidays, gardening and attending her grandchildren�s sporting events. She is loved by so many, and will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are one daughter, Debbie Nuckolls and companion Jack of Enid; two sons, Steve Peterson and wife Tammie and Craig Peterson and companion Wendy, all of Hugoton, Kan.; two brothers, Curtis Slocum and wife Maria of Hugoton and Duane Slocum of Sun City, Ariz.; three sisters, Pauline Nelson and husband Richard of Oklahoma City, Imagene Bressler and husband Dallas, of Liberal, Kan., and Karen McGill and husband Bob of Joplin, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, George Slocum, and one grandson, Chastin Peterson.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Assembly of God Church of Hugoton, with Rev. Robert Bailey presiding. Visitation 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church, Hugoton. Burial in Hugoton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Assembly of God Church, Hugoton, in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS 67901.
