David Leonard Peters

David Leonard Peters
June 8, 1940 ~ February 18, 2017

David Leonard Peters was born on June 8, 1940 in Mena, AR to Eunice and Leonard Peters and passed from this life to his home in Heaven on February 18, 2017 at the age of 76 years.

David lived in Stilwell during his high school years and graduated from Stilwell High

School in 1957. Upon graduation from high school he joined the United States Air Force where he served as a medic for 4 years. In 1961 he married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Rogers. After his discharge, David and Carolyn returned to Stilwell and attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Later they moved to Oklahoma City and then in 1980 relocated to Fountain Valley, CA. David had a longtime career in computer technology working for various large companies and after retirement continued providing contract work. He loved all things mechanical and technical.

In 1996 he married Megan Chen and she passed in September 2016 after a long bout with cancer.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Megan, his parents, Eunice and Leonard Peters, an infant brother, and a granddaughter, Allison Beth Lester.

David is survived by a very loving family which includes three daughters and a stepdaughter along with their spouses: Dava Jaycox and husband Mike from St Louis, MO, Cara Lester and husband Ron of Oklahoma City, Dena Nason and husband Wade of Yukon, OK, and Diana Chen and husband Joseph of Diamond Bar, CA. Also five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a sister Brenda Haxel and husband Don of Siloam Springs, AR, and his former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn Rogers Furgeson of Yukon, OK.

Also surviving him are other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on April 9th 2017 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs, AR.
