Alta Lee (Hall) Perigo

Alta Lee (Hall) Perigo
December 27, 1942 ~ July 26, 2023

Alta Perigo, age 80, of Purcell passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2023. Alta Lee Hall was born on December 27, 1942 in Wynne, Arkansas, the 2nd of 5 children born to Everett Lee Hall and Alberta Maxine (Thomas) Hall. She was primarily raised in Wynne, where she began school.

Alta learned at a very young age the value of hard work, as she spent a lot of time hoeing and picking cotton on the farm. Her family moved during her junior year to Maysville, where she graduated with the Warrior Class of 1961. Shortly after graduating high school, she went to work at Sherri Classics, a women’s clothing manufacturer in Purcell. It was here that she met a young man named Bobby Perigo. They fell in love and began their life together, raising three sons Jeff, Steve, and Craig. Alta worked at Sherri Classics for more than 23 years, and later owned and operated Purcell Office Supply, Queen’s Fashions and later worked in hospitality at the Postal Training Center. For the last two years, she has worked in the cafeteria for Lexington Public Schools. Alta was a hard worker, and was always busy doing something.

She loved cooking her famous pies and desserts for all to enjoy. She enjoyed bowling with her sisters-in-law and friend as the “Rag Dolls” in area leagues and in state and national tournaments. She loved doing lunch and running errands with her sister Betty, going on big family vacations, tending to her yard and spending time with family and friends. She loved relaxing in her comfy chair with a good Louis L’Amour book, watching her vast collection of SciFi movies, and enjoying a cold diet Dr. Pepper. She was a woman of great faith and a member of the Purcell First Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Everett and Maxine Hall; brothers Jim Hall and Leslie Hall; and baby infant twins.

Alta is survived by: her sons, Jeff Perigo and wife Shelley of Purcell, Steve Perigo and wife Dawn of Purcell, Craig Perigo and wife Trina of Purcell; sister, Betty Brady and husband Vernon of Purcell; brother Eddie Hall and wife Gina of Stratford; sister-in-law, Wanda Hall of Guthrie; 9 grandchildren, Ashley Blanchard and husband Jake of Purcell, Danniele Elliott and husband Brandon of Norman, Michael Perigo of Norman, Bodie Perigo of Purcell, Kyle Perigo of Purcell, Lane Perigo and wife Casey of Purcell, Hunter Perigo and wife Kelsi of Purcell, Caitlyn Perigo of Purcell and Stephen Idleman of Noble; 14 great grandchildren, Kenzligh, Braligh, Briligh, Jaxton, Hadlee, Neriah, Bentlee, Gatlin, Lincoln, Brinlee, Landry, Everly and Kaydance; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
