Gary Pennington
October 7, 1938 ~ April 14, 2019

Gary was born Oct 7, 1938 at 908 A Ave, Lawton, OK. To Curtis and Margaret (Fletcher) Pennington and passed away at his home April 14, 2019 at the age of 80 years 6 months & 7 days.

Gary accepted his Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and now rests in the kingdom that is promised young, strong and everlasting. His heart lilt up when his girls' came to visit or called to talk, he was their main man, he truly had a great love for them.

As a young child he spent his time playing with his best friend Doyle who was his brother, while their mother worked, they played at their father s pawn shop which Gary almost burned down playing with matches in the dressing room.

After high school Gary joined the Navy in 1956, he was a medic/corpsman aboard two different ships one of which his brother also served on at the same time. He expressed it was great having Doyle on the same ship, being away from home and at sea so long. The same year he married Thelma De Laughter and had a son Keith. Gary left the Navy in 1959 and began a long career in the automotive area. Working for Automotive Parts & Supply, Ben Levi Auto Parts. In 1966 Gary went to work as a salesman in the automotive depart of Montgomery Wards in Lawton, working his way up to manager serving many years in that position, he retired in 2001.

In 1961 he married Glenda Rosser to this union two daughters were born. Michelle and Kelly.

In March of 1975 he married the love of his life Linda Beville and her young daughter Sherry. They just celebrated 44 year of marriage and were hardly ever apart. Still very much in love. Gary & Linda traveled a great deal with many of their close friends. They especially spent a lot of time in Taos; Santa Fe & Red River NM. Gary had a very large friend base and treasured them all, he held a special place for those he d grown up with Jon Gilbert and Dickie Lee Shelton and many stories from each of them, some could be told and some not. Longtime friends Glen Vowell, Rudy Perez and Tony Holt and their escapades were classic.

Gary's talent for wood working was great, building things for his girls. He was quite the gardener his flowers were beautiful and the yard was green and weed free, he mowed 3 times a week or it seemed like it. A special mention to a special friend who kept them both in stiches everyday with her stories for the past 45 years Sybil Jean Gilbert, Gary loved ya.

Gary Pennington, 80, passed away April 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

And as we celebrate the life of our husband papa, daddy & friend we know his family was the highlight of his accomplishments in life and gave him great pride & joy. He will surely be missed. Gary is survived by his wife Linda of the home, daughters Michelle De Bona & Kelly Agee husband Robert, Son Keith, granddaughters Emma De Bona, Olivia De Bona, Alexis Murray, Elizabeth Bridges, grandsons Hunter Agee, Marcus Pennington. Great granddaughters Harper Murray, Timber Lynn Agee, great grandson Banner Agee. Many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Doyle and daughter Sherry Beville.
