Hazel Mae (Springs) Pearson

May 19, 1933 ~ Feb 21, 2017

Hazel Pearson was born May 19, 1933 in Sherman, Texas to Ruby Jewel and Joseph C. Springs. She passed away February 21, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 2 days.

Hazel grew up and attended schools in Sherman, Texas. In her early teenage years she moved with her parents to Oklahoma City, OK. At the age of 15 she began her life as a homemaker with Herman Johnson and raised her 7 children. Later in life she met and was married to Sheldon Wayne Pearson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 12, 1983. They made their home in the Colgate community before moving to Atoka after Sheldon's retirement. Hazel was an animal lover and had many pets ranging from a peacock and monkey's to sheep and goats. During her final years she really enjoyed her dogs, cats and pigeons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sheldon Wayne Pearson.

She is survived by her 7 children, James Johnson and wife, Julie, Denver, CO, Linda Skinner and husband, LaMont, Plano, TX, Ivy Woodard and husband, Bill, Oklahoma City, OK, Reba Collaso, Del City, OK, Sandra Bradley, Kansas, Shelly Frazier, Oklahoma and Joseph Johnson and Hazel's special daughter-in-law, Connie, Sayre, OK and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will hold a private family service at a later date.
