Memorial Services for T. P. "Cotton" Payne, 88, of Milburn, Oklahoma will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 a. m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel. Mr. Payne passed away on Saturday, July 31st at the Brookside Manor Nursing Home in Madill, Oklahoma. 

Cotton was born on April 29, 1922 in Paducah, Texas to Willie Payne and Dessie Sedalia Bridges Payne. He lived in different parts of the country over the years and worked mostly as a millwright in the lumber industry. He moved to Johnston County in 2004 from Roseburg, Oregon. Mr. Payne married Ruby McCullom in December of 2006 in Tishomingo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray Payne and J. L. �Biggun� Payne and a sister, LaVesta Hammack.

Mr. Payne is survived by: his wife Ruby, of the home; two sons, Thomas Payne of Ramona, CA and Doyle Payne of East Wenatchee, WA; two daughters, Bessie Walschlager of Sutherlin, OR and Gail Buie of Milwaukie,OR; three sisters, Wilma Underwood of Tishomingo, Betty Atkinson of Latexco, TX and Cleta Walenta of Mabank, TX; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
