Betty Jean (Nusser) Parks
February 11, 1951 ~ February 25, 2022

Betty Parks, 71 year old Sharon resident passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenny White officiating. Her family will be releasing her ashes into the Oklahoma wind on Mother's Day.

Betty Jean (Nusser) Parks was born February 11, 1951 to James A. Nusser and Afton P. (Heaton) Morse in Alva, Oklahoma. Betty grew up in Alva and graduated from Alva High School. After high school, she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Betty received both her Bachelors Degree in Education and Masters Degree in Psychology.

Many knew Betty from her summer swimming lessons and teaching lifeguard lessons, teaching first-aid for the American Red Cross and her participation in Girl Scouts where for a few years she was a leader and also ran the program for all of Northwest Oklahoma. She worked everything from construction to accounting just to make sure her children had everything they needed. Her most recent employment was at Northwest Center for Behavioral Health where she was an Accounting Purchaser until her retirement in 2017.

Betty was united into marriage to Keith D. Parks on October 20, 1991 at Crystal Beach Park. The couple made their first home in Woodward before residing in Sharon, Oklahoma. Betty enjoyed the water, all animals including her cats, dogs, and horses, she loved attending the Senior Citizen Center for line dancing and Tai Chi. She also enjoyed horse back riding, jewelry making, sewing and other crafts.

Betty always earned the respect of her peers whether it be from her education or employment. She was always active in her community and a current member of the Ignite Church in Woodward.

Betty is survived by her husband, Keith Parks; her children, Jenniffer Martin and husband Steven; Bryan J. Rowland and wife Shannon; Thomas E. Fields, Jr; Chris (Parks) Rodrigues and wife Ashlee; Michael Parks, and Elizabeth Worden; grandchildren, Bailey Tinker Rowland, Titan Fields, Bailee-Jo Ryan, Cayden Rodrigues and Wade Rodrigues; special nephews, Mason, Clyde, and Zane Shepherd; many friends and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents and biological siblings, Alberta and Jerry.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the The Hope Center with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
