Nicke Joe Painter, age 70 of Hollis, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home in Hollis.

Nicke was born in Hollis on February 20, 1946 to his parents Frank Tolbert Painter and Doris Sue (Nell) Painter. He graduated from Hollis High School and received his bachelor’s degree in education and was an elementary teacher in Norman for several years. He also taught in Frisco, Texas and worked for Country Wide Financial Services. Later Nicke moved back home to Hollis where he enjoyed eating at the Boomerang and visiting with his friends. Nicke was a good friend and neighbor and would often help drive people to their medical appointments.

Preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Hugh and Edith Painter; Cecil and Germie Nell;

Nicke is survived by his brother, Roger Painter and his wife Gay of Whitehouse, Texas; his nieces and nephews, Trent Painter and wife Tracy of Aubrey, Texas and daughter, McKay Painter; Traci Wagner and husband Sammy of Flint, Texas, and children, Aubri Wagner and Hayden Wagner; as well as numerous other family members and his many friends.     

Memorial visitation will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February 3, 2017 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
