Paul B. "Bernie" Onelio
April 5, 1939 ~  July 13, 2017

Paul B. Onelio, "Bernie", age 78 died unexpectedly on Thursday July 13, 2017 of a cardiac arrest in Bartlesville Oklahoma

Bernie is survived by his fiancée Liz Fugate, of Bartlesville; sister, Joan Lavery, of Frontenac; daughter, Cindy Edmondson, and two grandchildren, Anthony and Natalie Edmondson of Lawrence Kansas

Bernie was born in Pittsburg Kansas April 5, 1939. He grew up in Frontenac Kansas where he excelled in athletics. Bernie graduated from Frontenac High School in 1956 and went on to Pittsburg State University on a basketball scholarship where he still holds career rebounding records. After graduating from PSU in 1960, Bernie pursued a career in business management. Bernie found a career he loved when he joined Re/Max of Kansas City in 1979 and became a top producing sales associate. In 1990 he became the co-owner of Re/Max of Kansas City with three offices in the northland until selling his interest in 2001. In 2008 Bernie became the vice President of operations for Re/Max regional services. Bernie retired in 2016 and moved to Bartlesville Oklahoma.

Although Bernie had a remarkable career, those who knew him understood his true gift was connecting with everyone he met on a personal level. Bernie's biggest joy was helping others live to their full potential. Bernie's philanthropic passion was feeding those in the community who were hungry. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to the Bishop Sullivan Center, 6435 Truman Road, K.C. Mo 64126. Donations can also be made at bishopsullivan.org.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday July 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 2552 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, MO. A remembrance luncheon immediately following the service will be provided at Westin Crown Center in the Washington Park Room.
