Kenneth Leroy O'Neal
November 20, 1934 ~ July 20, 2020

Kenneth Leroy O’Neal, 85, was born November 20, 1934 to George and Evelyn Rugg O’Neal and passed peacefully from this earth on July 20, 2020. He was born and raised in Des Moines, IA., and worked diligently until he joined the Navy on October 1, 1955. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 8, 1960. On February 25, 1955, he married the love of his life, Marie Ann Moro, and to this union six children were born; Tony, Ronnie, Kenneth Jr., George, Linda and Lisa. He was a faithful and devoted husband and father to Marie and his children. Kenneth faced many trials in his life. He lost his daughter, Linda at the age of 10, his son, Kenny Jr. at the age of 22, and his son, Tony at the age of 63. He nursed Marie through two battles with breast cancer and CHF. Marie was taken from him in February 2009.

He married his second wife, Janet Snyder, in October 2009, and she was taken from him in July 2017. Even after losing three children and two wives, Kenneth remained strong and resilient. n 1986, he moved with his family to Enid where he began working for Central Machine and Tool. He worked at Central Machine until he opened his own business restoring antiques and hard wood floors.

Kenneth was a pattern maker and loved working with his hands. He created many amazing things from wood; including a full size playhouse for his granddaughter, and a full size sandbox and fort for his great grandsons. Right up to his final days at home he was working with wood and keeping up with yard work. Kenneth was a very proud and accomplished man. He was most proud of his family. He loved them dearly and would do anything he could for them; even if it meant climbing a ladder at age 85 to build a fort for his great grandsons. He never let anything slow him down.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, three children and five brothers.

Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Lisa and Lee Ann; four sons, Ronnie and his wife Debbie, George, Bart and Rayl; and one sister Karen. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
