Danny Ray "Dan" O'Neal

Danny Ray "Dan" O'Neal
October 26, 1951 ~ May 25, 2014 (age 62)

Danny Ray "Dan" O'Neal, 62, of Pauls Valley, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014.  He was born October 26, 1951 in Wynnewood to Glenn and Sylvia (Maddox) O'Neal.

Dan graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1969. He went to college at East Central State University where he received a bachelor degree in Sociology. He loved music and worked as a radio station DJ during and after college in both Altus and Norman.  Dan lived in Norman for many years and worked in the mental health field as a psych tech at Oklahoma Memorial Hospital and as case manager and director at Oklahoma Community Counseling Center. He later worked as both a taxi driver and for the Census Bureau. Dan spent his later years back in Pauls Valley where he cared for his father Glenn until his death, after his mother passed away; and since then, he continued to very much love spending time with his family. He loved music, movies, and it was also his passion and self-obligation to be his family's personal weatherman. You could always count on a call from Weatherman Dan if there was dangerous weather to watch out for. Dan was known by all for his humor, wit, and depth. Dan had wisdom and understanding that gave him compassion for others without judgment. He's said hundreds of things over the years that helped life make sense to those around him while giving comfort through simplicity. Probably the thing that is most memorable is that his family was the most important thing to him, and he lived this out and passed this belief on.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Sylvia O'Neal of Pauls Valley.

He is survived by his life companion,  Patrecia J. Bow of Pauls Valley; one brother, Larry Glenn O'Neal and his wife Lila of Oklahoma City; his daughter, Jennifer Karena Seat and her husband Zach Seat of Norman;  his grandson, Sequojah O'Neal-Johnson of Norman; his niece, Sarah Wickliffe and her husband Guy Wickliffe, and their daughter Hailey Wickcliffe of Deer Creek; and many other beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Whitebead Methodist Church in Whitebead, Oklahoma located just outside of Pauls Valley with a reception following in the church's Fellowship Hall
