Jim Olstad

July 30, 1947 ~ Feb. 7, 2016

Jim Olstad passed away Feb. 7, 2016, after a valiant battle with Huntingtons disease. He was a resident of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Enid. He was born July 30, 1947, in Enid to Maynard Wood Olstad and Wanda Gertrude Morgan Olstad, both of whom preceded him in death.

Jim graduated proudly from Enid High School in 1965 and from Phillips University in Enid in 1969. Though he did not attend the University of Oklahoma, his loyalty to OU football never waivered.

He served in the Air Force Reserves from 1968-1974, and beginning with Champlain Petroleum Co., enjoyed a lengthy and successful career in the oil industry.

Jim was a rock-and-roller at heart, with a fondness for hot rods and brew, and an infectious grin.

Jim is survived by his wife, Pam, Frisco, Texas; sister, Sharon Bates and husband Dick, Edmond; children, Stephanie Olstad Ranco, and husband Darren, Hampden, Maine; Susan Olstad Reason, and husband Jason, Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Holden, Sadie, Jude, Rachel, Wesley and Haley.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's honor may be made to the University of Oklahoma Foundation for the Memorial Stadium Expansion.
