Lois (Lackey) Olson

Lois (Lackey) Olson
September 17, 1921 ~ October 13, 2013

Lois Lackey Olson, 92, passed away on October 13, 2013, in Kerrville, TX. She was born on September 17, 1921, near Inman, KS. She was the daughter of Glenn and Nettie Lackey of Hutchinson, KS. Her early years were spent on a farm outside of Hutchinson. She married Frank Olson of Enid, OK, during World War II. After the war, she and her husband settled in Bartlesville, OK, where she raised her son, Glenn and worked as a secretary to the pastor of the First Methodist Church. She will always be remembered as a devoted mother and family member. She was very active in her church and enjoyed playing bridge and canasta with her friends. Her later years were spent in Kerrville, TX, where she enjoyed the beauty of the Texas Hill Country and especially the birds and deer near her home.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Olson, Anchorage, AK; sister, Audrey Lee Peterson Hutchinson, KS; grandsons, Drew and Arlo Olson, Alaska; nephews, Lowell Peterson, Wichita, KS, Kelly Peterson; nieces Pat Fowler, Carolyn Samuelson, and Barbara Samuelson, Denver, CO, Nat Peterson, Wichita, KS, Angela Peterson, Hutchinson, KS; and many grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Olson, sister, Ruthagene Robinson, and granddaughter, Tassy Olson. Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson with Pastor Jeff Slater presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book today thru Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Donor's Choice in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, Ks 67501.
