Eileen Ann (Bentley) Bodholdt Olson
December 17, 1926 ~ July 11, 2013 (age 86)

Eileen Ann Bodholdt Olson passed away on July 11, 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.  Eileen was born to David M. Bentley and Emily Jane Bentley on December 17, 1926 in Sac County, Iowa.  Eileen attended school at Nemaha, Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa.  She had many successful careers including teaching, accounting, and was the owner of a private motel business with her husband Pete.

On June 13, 1948 she married Charles P. “Pete” Bodholdt of Newell, Iowa.  They lived in Iowa, California, and Arkansas.  Eileen was a devout Christian and member of the United Methodist Church.  Her practical understanding of life, her profound good common sense, and her lifelong graciousness to all she knew, met, and loved was truly amazing.

Eileen was preceded in death by her father and mother, David and Emily Bentley: her beloved husband of 41 years, Pete Bodholdt, her adoring husband of 13 years, Roy Olson of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas: Her infant daughter, Jane Eileen Bodholdt.

Eileen is survived by her sister, Margie Pellersels Beaver of Sac City, Iowa; her son Brian Bodholdt and wife Jo Ann of Norman, Oklahoma:  her son Brent Bodholdt and wife Aliene of Denison, Texas: her granddaughter Kathryne Bodholdt Kidd and husband Jason of Norman, Oklahoma: her stepdaughter Janet Pinkerton and husband Bill and son Rusty of Durham, North Carolina.

At Eileen’s request, there will be a private gathering of her family at Nemaha Cemetery, Nemaha, Iowa, in the near future to celebrate her life.

Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements for Eileen and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at havenbrookfuneralhome.com
