Sept. 25, 1918 ~ Feb. 10, 2013

ENID, Okla. - Memorial service for Donald Joseph Odvody, former Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. today, March 23, 2013, at Enid Cemetery Chapel. Pastor Gary Miller will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Donald was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Prague, Neb., to Joseph Frank and Tillie Anna (Pabian) Odvody and died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Mesa, Ariz.

On July 27, 1942, he married Modine Virginia Cox in Enid. She preceded him in death. On Nov. 12, 2012, he married Avis Eichmann in Mesa.

He was a procurement branch chief for the FAA. He served his country in the Air Corps during World War II.

Donald enjoyed fishing and eating his catch. He liked to fish for perch and crappie in Lake Eufaula, Kaw and the Salt Plains.

He is survived by his wife, Avis of the home; children, Larry Odvody and wife Betty of Eufaula, Okla., and Dale Odvody and wife Ann; two grandsons, Trevor Odvody and wife Shi Mai, and James Odvody; four great-grandchildren, Sara, Madison, Abigail and Joshua Odvody; and one brother, George Odvody and wife Ann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and brother, Leonard Odvody.
