Stanley Willson Nyswonger Jr

Stanley Willson Nyswonger Jr
August 14, 1943 ~ November 30, 2017

A void will be felt by the passing of my soul mate, high school sweetheart, and loving husband, Stanley Willson Nyswonger. After poking his finger with a sharp needle several times a day for nearly 50 years, Type I Diabetes and related issues finally won the life battle. His care at the Bartlesville Health & Rehab and with Comforting Hands Hospice led him to a peaceful departure on November 30, 2017 at the age of 74.

Mr. Nyswonger was born on August 14, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Stanley Willson Nyswonger, Sr. and Mary Jane (Spencer) Nyswonger. He moved to Topeka, Kansas with his family and attended Topeka High School, where he was once a high school wrestling champion and where he met his high school sweetheart, Penny. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps through Naval Flight Training.

Mr. Nyswonger received his Bachelors' Degree in Business with a minor in Marketing from Long Beach State University in California. He had a long career in sales, working for prestigious companies such as Dr. Scholls' and Xerox. He also served as an Information Officer for the Post Master General at the Los Angeles Federal Post Office, where he helped establish and promote Express Mail, which at the time was a new product for the US Post Office.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Penny (Nichols) Northrop-Nyswonger; sister, Stana Jane (Nyswonger) Palubinski; brother, Steve Nyswonger and wife Faith; nieces, Ketti Dawson & Faith Novack; nephews, Jeremy Palubinski and wife Kristy, Matt Nyswonger and wife Krissy, Luke Nyswonger and wife Kelly; and his stepsons Michael Northrop and wife Tami and Mark Northrop and wife Jenny; grandchildren of Penny: Kendal Rose, Brady, and Nathan.

A memorial service will be held at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Comforting Hands Hospice LLC, 1366 SE Washington Blvd, Suite A, Bartlesville, OK 74006.

Friends and loved ones who wish may leave condolence messages and sign the online guest book at www.stumpff.org
