Linda (Hess) Noteware

Linda (Hess) Noteware
Dec 16, 1938 ~ Jan 13, 2013

ENID, Okla. — Memorial service for Linda Noteware will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, 3002 North Van Buren St. in Enid, Okla.

Linda passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. She was born to Harold and Juanita Hess on Dec. 16, 1938, in Billings, Okla., where she grew up with her grandparents, Bert and Ada Hess.

Linda was married to Merrill Matal of Billings from 1956 until 1971, and John Noteware of Garber from 1972 until 2000.

She lived in Enid and has five children and seven grandchildren.

Linda’s pastimes included working crossword puzzles, reading, crocheting, listening to music, dancing and watching television.

She stayed current on the news and couldn’t resist a stimulating political discussion.

Linda enjoyed intimate get-togethers at her home, where she always had a cold Coke to offer anyone who visited. Linda was a good neighbor and friend and welcomed many of her children’s friends into her home over the years. She loved her loyal dog and companion, Tasha. Above all, Linda was a loving mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was interacting with and reflecting on her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Linda was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and an infant brother, Michael Hess.

She is survived by her children, Trudy (Matal) Sabihy of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Doug Matal and wife Cindy, Conte Matal and wife Kristi, Dana Noteware and wife Rebecca, and Dustin Noteware and wife Samantha, all of Enid; seven grandchildren, Kyle Sabihy and wife Nong, Damon Matal, Jordan Noteware, Tyler Matal, Jett Noteware, Maylin Noteware and Lyte Noteware; four brothers, Harold Wilkens, Don Hess, Ron Hess and Dana Hess; and three sisters, Sue Mahaffey, Patty Joons and Tammy Lee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at http://www.stjude.org or through Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Condolences at www.andersonburris.com.
