Margaret Emaline (Kuhnemund) Nixon

Jan. 22, 1921 ~ Oct. 8, 2016

The Memorial Service for Margaret Emaline Nixon is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Weston officiating.

Margaret was born on Jan. 22, 1921, in Lahoma to Henry and Ethel Freeberg Kuhnemund and died Oct. 8, 2016, in Enid. She grew up in Lahoma and graduated from Lahoma High School in 1938. Margaret received her associate's degree from Phillips University. On Dec. 25, 1941, she married Don Nixon in Enid. They lived in Enid, and later Arizona, where Margaret received her Master's Degree in Education in 1955, from Arizona State. She taught in Oklahoma, Arizona and California. They retired to Enid in 1980, and owned the Stork's Nest. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of United Church of Lahoma.

She was preceded in death by her son, David; and sister, Annabelle Thieme.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Don; children, Beverly Nixon, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Danny Nixon and wife, Jan, of Lahoma; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
