Janie Regenia Nix

Janie Regenia Nix
August 12, 1952 ~ July 28, 2014

Janie Regenia Nix was born August 12, 1952 at Sayre, Oklahoma to Katherine Meisner Nix and H.L. "Lee" Nix. She passed away at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 16 days.

Janie attended school at Sweetwater, Sayre and Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre. She lived in the Oklahoma City area for a number of years before returning to Elk City in the 90's. Janie worked numerous jobs and was a very talented and creative individual who loved to read, paint and draw. Working in her yard and caring for her beloved cats brought joy to her life. She was a free spirit and her motto in life was "Live, Love - Laugh." She became disabled in 2005 and was confined to her home.

Janie was preceded in death by precious son, Jonathan Clint Dusek and her parents.

She is survived by her sister, Karen Snyder, Elk City, OK; niece, Kristina McWhorter and husband, Lavon, Elk City, OK; 2 aunts, Vera Brimer, Fowler, KS and Maevis Smith, San Antonio, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the W.A.R. animal rescue or the Timberly Weatherly Animal Shelter in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Private family services will be held at a later date. A register book is available to sign at Whinery-Savage Funeral Service in Elk City through the end of this week.
