Linda Kay (Gooch) Nivens
August 01, 1947 ~ March 26, 2020

Linda Nivens, 72, of Coyle, OK passed away on March 26, 2020 in Edmond, OK. Linda was born in Guthrie, OK to Don and Eva Gooch on August 1, 1947.

She went to Guthrie High School and Oklahoma State University. She married Darrel Nivens on September 17, 1970. Linda taught math at Coyle High School for several years before focusing all her attention on the family farm. She later went on to teach math at Langston University for several years. Linda also volunteered extensively with 4-H.

Linda is preceded in death by her son, Coy L. Nivens; her brother, Don Lloyd Gooch (Bud); her father, Don L. Gooch; and her mother, Eva Grace Gooch.

Linda is survived by her spouse of almost 50 years, Darrel Nivens; her children, Heather Nivens and Christopher Nivens; her sister, Sue Longan; her brother, Jim Gooch; and many nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
