November 4, 1944 ~ April 19, 2026

Francis Lee Nine, 81, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Viewing will take place between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2026, with the family present between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 24, 2026, at First United Methodist Church. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, at Hardtner Elwood Cemetery, Hardtner, KS. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Francis was born on Saturday, November 4, 1944, in Shattuck, OK, to Franklin Miles and Lucille (Fiegel) Nine. Francis earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education, then later, earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University. He taught Math and Science for 37 Years at Ponca City High School. He was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and the Oklahoma State Alumni Association. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid OSU alum and fan. He adored his grandchildren and was an important part of their lives.

Francis is survived by: his son, David Nine and wife, Suzanne, of Arcadia, OK; grandchildren, Thomas Nine of Ft. Worth, TX, Frankie Nine of Tampa, FL, and Tate Nine of Arcadia, OK; siblings Carol Richardson of Wichita, KS, Debbie Rodriguez and husband, Tim, of Gage, OK, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by: his wife, Violet; parents, Frank and Lucille; sister, Darlene Moon; brother, Ralph Nine; brothers-in-law, Vernon Richardson, Jimmy Moon, Bruce Sternberger, and Billy Sternberger.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Nine, Tate Nine, BJ Sternberger, Clayton Rodriguez, Phil Richardson, and Jacob Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Friess and Thomas Munger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Lymphoma Research, 4110 S. 100th E. Ave, Suite 101, Tulsa, OK 74146.
