Kenneth Earl "Milky" Nickels
March 27, 1937 ~ October 31, 2017

Kenneth Earl "Milky" Nickels, 80, died October 31, 2017. Kenneth was born March 27, 1937 to Earl Frank and Madeline Gale Magee Nickels near Ocheleta, OK and attended schools in Ramona and Barnsdall.

Kenneth married Sylvia Brown Wilson on February 2, 1957 in Bartlesville, OK. Soon after the marriage, the family moved to California where Kenneth served in the Army Reserve. In 1959, he received an Honorable Discharge. In 1967, the family returned to Barnsdall, OK where he was employed as a Route Salesman for the Page Milk Company. In 1977, Kenneth became an officer for the Barnsdall Police Department serving 23 years. In addition, he worked as an equipment operator for Osage County.

Kenneth was a volunteer for the Barnsdall Fire Department for 20 years and a founding member and Emergency Medical Technician with the Barnsdall Community Ambulance Association.

Prior to his retirement from the Barnsdall Police Department, Kenneth began raising cattle, which he continued the rest of his life.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Kenneth is survived by brother, Norman and wife, Ida, of Bartlesville, OK; sister, Shirley Pasley, of Skiatook, OK; son, K.C. Nickels and wife, Brenda, of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Jeanne Swinney, of Shawnee, OK; four grandchildren: Thomas Nickels, of Tulsa, OK, Adrian Swinney of Yamagata, Japan, Caitlyn Swinney, of Norman, Oklahoma, Aaron Childers, of Broken Arrow, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on November 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home, 1600 Southeast Washington Boulevard, Bartlesville, OK.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Hospice, PO Box 33234, Tulsa, OK 74153-1234, or the Barnsdall Nursing Home, PO Box 944, Barnsdall, OK 74002.
