Margaret Dolores "Maggie" Newland
Sep 19, 1940 - Mar 29, 2012

Age 71 went to be with her lord on March 29, 2012, following a brief and courageous bout with cancer, surrounded by her loving husband and her children.

Born September 19, 1940 in Hobbs New Mexico. She graduated from Hobbs High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University. She had a career in broadcasting and advertising before becoming a homemaker. Maggie never met a stranger and could provide a listening ear to anyone who needed it. She considered her biggest accomplishment to be her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Maggie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bill Newland of Blackwell. Son, Michael Broaddus and daughter in law, Toni of The Colony, Tx. Her daughter, Delavae Carlson of Prosper, Tx.  Four grandchilderen, Michael, Stormy, Morgan and Samantha. Two stepdaughters, Christy Owens and Terri Wehr of Ponca City. Many friends and her beloved cats which she rescued. Maggie could not stand to see an animal hungry or neglected. She also had a real compassion for people in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lottie Bond of Hobbs, New Mexico.

We love you Mom, Grammy, Maggie, you will be in our hearts forever.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in First United Methodist Church of Blackwell with Reverend Pam Cottrill officiating.
