Lola New

???? ~ June 7, 2002 | Age 93

Lola New, 93, of Amarillo died Friday, June 7, 2002.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. David Evans, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.

Mrs. New was born in Olney and had lived in Amarillo since 1929. She worked in ready-to-wear sales. She was a Girl Scout leader and loved to play bridge. She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. New, in 1959; and her son, Harold J. New Jr., in 1980.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Cardinal of Okmulgee, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Heritage Convalescent Center, 1006 Clyde, Amarillo, TX 79106.
