Paul David Ness

September 24, 1937 ~ February 20, 2018

Paul David Ness, age 80, of Bartlesville, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Paul was born on September 24, 1937. He was the son of Karl B & Bertha (Barger) Ness. He received his high school education at Dewey, Ok in 1956. He graduated from OSU in 1961 with a bachelor's degree. He taught Junior High Math in Bartlesville for 5 years and Orange County, California for 23 years, returning to Bartlesville in 1989. In 1958, he married Donna (McNally), she preceded him in death. Paul was very active with Junior High Students while in California. He coached the girls volleyball, rocket club, chess club, and little league ball team. He also tutored math before and after retirement. 

On February 14, 1997 he married Virginia (Martin). He was a member of Bluestem Baptist Church and served as a deacon until his health began to fail. Both Paul and Virginia were foster parents to over 63 children over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl & Bertha Ness; brothers-John, Kenneth, Hugh, and Karl; and a son Joseph. 

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (of the home); and brother, Earl Ness; three sons, David, Edwin (Laura), and Neil (Martine) Ness. Step children-Kathleen Anderson (of the home), Cynthia Gauthier, Teresa (Tim) Downum, Bill (Karen) Anderson, Pamela (Scott) Mace, Barbara Wulf and Rebecca (John) Bogdanowicz. There are 27 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Bluestem Baptist Church in Dewey. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
