Harold Ray Nelson
January 23, 1950 ~ February 15, 2018

Harold Ray Nelson Harold Ray Nelson was born on January 23, 1950 in Caddo, Oklahoma to James William and Vera Marie (Combs) Nelson and passed from this life on February 15, 2018 at his home in Calera at the age of 68.

Harold graduated from Durant Public Schools and Grayson County College. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserve from 1969-1989 and retired as a 1st SGT. On June 21, 1969 Harold married his sweetheart and love of his life, Linda Pate and together as one they raised their two children, Cody and Leslie. Harold worked for OK Natural Gas as a senior meter reader the regulation tech until his retirement. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Calera School Board and Calera Young Farmers. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. His greatest accomplishment and joy in his life was his sweet family.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Hazel Mozel Nelson Russell.

Harold is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 plus years, Linda Nelson of the home; son, Cody Nelson and wife Shauna of Calera; daughter, Leslie Nelson-Gaston and husband Bryon of Durant; grandchildren, Makayla Thomas, Lauren Horner, Shelby Nelson, Eli Nelson and Lani Horner; brothers, Bobby Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, Roy Nelson and G.W. Nelson; sister, Glenda Nelson Brown and husband Jess D. and numerous extended family and friends.

Services to celebrate Harold's life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Darel Bunch will officiate. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
