Ghanim Anton Naayem
November 21, 1936 ~ December 22, 2017

Ghanim Anton Naayem of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away December 22nd after a long battle with heart disease. Ghanim was born November 21st, 1936, in Basra, Iraq. His father was Anton Yousif Naayem and his mother was Monera Habboush.

Ghanim came to the USA on a full scholarship to attend college in Springfield, Missouri. After graduating, he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville. He returned to Springfield to marry his college sweetheart, Carolyn Lewis, who was working as a registered nurse at St. John's Hospital. Ghanim's two brothers, Adil and Hazim Naayem came to Springfield, Missouri to attend college there.

Ghanim and Carolyn have two sons, Laith and Nemir. Ghanim was sent by Phillips Petroleum to work in the field of International Administration. The family enjoyed the assignments in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Egypt and Canada and traveling all over the world. 

After retiring, Ghanim and Carolyn enjoyed their favorite vacation... trekking in the Himalayas in Nepal with Laith and Nemir. Ghanim enjoyed traveling and sports. He was known for his kindness and generosity.
