Nancy Murphy

Oct. 1, 1919 ~ June 16, 2002

DUMAS - Nancy Murphy, 82, died Sunday, June 16, 2002.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Murphy was born Oct. 1, 1919, in Young County. She had lived in Dumas since 1943. She married Granville Murphy on Sept. 2, 1947, in Seymour.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She taught second and third grade at Sunset Elementary School for many years. She taught school a total of 33 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 1997.

Survivors include two nieces, Susan Perrin of Hereford and Linda Wright of Hooker, Okla; and a host of friends.

The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second St., Dumas, TX 79029.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 115 Santa Barbara St.
