Eugene "Gene" Murdock

September 16, 1929 ~ July 10, 2017

Eugene (Gene) Murdock, 87, of Norman, OK passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. Gene was born on September 16, 1929 in Lawrenceburg, TN to Ivan Eugene and Dove Lily Murdock.

Gene served in and retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. After retirement from the Air Force Gene worked as a Manager for his brother at Murdock Chevrolet in Norman. Gene was a hard worker who in his spare time loved to play golf.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Helen Murdock in 2010 and 8 siblings.

Gene is survived by two sons, Coleman and Keith Murdock and two daughters, Melinda Hopper and Rebecca Groupkey; step-daughter, Sharon Woolridge; 15 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Services to remember Gene will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating. Services were placed in the care of Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman.
