Gerald A. "Bud" Morton
July 28, 1938 ~ November 4, 2015

Gerald A. Morton "Bud" - of Joliet formerly of Worth and Elwood, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, after a brief illness, Wednesday, November 4, 2015. at the age 77.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, (nee Franke Lorenz); two daughters Christine M. Codero and Michelle R. Morton; two stepdaughters Christine (Steve) Wyatt and Julie (Dan) Miller; five grandchildren Kaleigh, Ashley and Emily Wyatt, Steven and Hailey Miller; a brother Sam (Lawanna) Morton and a sister Agnes (Rex) Smith.  Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Ella Louise Morton, his parents Sterling and Cleta Morton; a brother John H. Morton, four sisters Kathleen Thomas, Caroleen M. Barnes, Aletta Barnett and Pauline Phillips.

Born July 28, 1938 in Stilwell, OK, he was a veteran of the US Navy from 1953- 1959. He retired after 38 years from Sears and Roebuck Company. Member of the American Legion Post 991 in Worth, IL and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knight's of Columbus at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Channahon.

Funeral services were held at the Carlson- Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60435 on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 12:00 - Noon.

Interment and full military honors were at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Waterstone Circle,Joliet, IL 60431 or  Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 N.Oak Park Ave, Chicago, IL 60707.
