Micah Leroy Morrow
October 16, 1944 ~ July 31, 2017

Micah Leroy Morrow, aged 72, passed away at his home in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on July 31, 2017. He was born on October 16, 1944, in Danville, Arkansas, at the home of his Maternal Grandparents, Horace and Rosetta (Hood) Poplin.

 He attended Columbus Elementary School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and graduated Junior High and Senior High School in Guthrie Oklahoma in 1962, then attended Oklahoma State University, joined the US Army, and returned to Oklahoma State University to complete his Bachelor Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and Reserve Officer Training Corp and receive his Commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Corp of Engineers.

He was based in several locations, Ft. Bliss, Texas, Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and served oversees in the 2nd Engineers at Camp Casey, Daegu City, South Korea at before returning home to Guthrie, Oklahoma, and commuting to Stillwater to attend Oklahoma State University, this time completing a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, as a Certified Public Accountant, Summa Cum Laude, Beta Kappa Chi.

He worked with Big 8 Accounting Firms in Tulsa for several years before hiring to Phillips Petroleum as an Accountant in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Chesterfield, Missouri. After retiring from Phillips, he moved back to Guthrie, to be closer to family. After a short retirement he joined John Vance Autogroup as Office Manager for Country Ford in Guthrie and retired after many years of service. Micah pursued a lifelong passion of Corvettes, and enjoyed driving them, showing them off to others, and restoring them. He was a fervent Defender of the Second Amendment, a firearm enthusiast and shooter, and enjoyed his hobbies with passion. He was proud of his Service to our country, and of his retirement of many years of that service, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He enjoyed his "Class of 62" Classmates and the time shared together talking over old times, new times, and of never growing old.

Micah was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis B. and Susie (Poplin) Morrow, and brother Baby Jay.

He is survived by his son Michael Christopher Morrow, of Mulhall, his close friend Brenda Russell of Oklahoma City, his sisters Evelynn (Morrow) Mackie of Dallas, and Georgeanna (Morrow) McCombie, of Guthrie, brother Phillip H Morrow, of Guthrie, brother-in-law Keith H Mackie of Dallas, sister-in-law Jennifer A (Swisher) Morrow, of Guthrie, a grandson, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved Bulldog, Maggie.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Smith Memorial Chapel, 220 North 1st, St, Guthrie, Oklahoma on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 1p.m.
