Sharon Lizabeth (Martin) Morrison
July 6, 1947 ~ December 11, 2020

Sharon Lizabeth Morrison, of Durant, passed away on December 11, 2020. She was born in Honey Grove, Texas to James Richard Martin and Annie Merle (Collins) on July 6, 1947. Sharon received her bachelor’s degree from Houston Baptist University and then went on to earn her master’s in library science from Sam Houston State University. She was married to Earl Ray Morrison II for 19 years.

Sharon is most known as Library Director at Southeastern State University. She was on the Board of Trustees of the Oklahoman Shakespearean Festival, an active member of the First Baptist Church, a volunteer for The Durant Main Street Program, a longtime member of the GFWC Fortnightly Club and President of Chapter GW of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She helped with feeding the college students at the Wesley Center and was a generous supporter/ member of the Musical Art Series, The Three Valley Museum, and the Red River Arts Association. She generously gave to various departments at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in support of large and small initiatives. She could always be counted on to donate to help the people she loved and admired. She loved traveling, reading books, gardening, and shopping.

She is preceded in death by her parents James Richard Martin and Annie Merle Martin, and her late husband Earl Ray Morrison II.

Sharon is survived by her sister Melissa Martin of Wichita, KS, her sister Toni McDowra and Husband Tom of McKinney, TX, daughters Kristin Peters and husband Jerry of Abilene, TX, Leah Woodard and husband Dustin of Kyle, TX, Grandsons Samuel De la Rosa, Peyton De La Rosa and Michael Peters, niece Terri Maus and husband Brian of Wichita, KS, and nephews Bradley Martin and wife Sally of Weatherford, TX and Zachary Williams and wife Dara of Dallas, TX, and her aunt Idell McCleary of Calera, OK. Along with many cherished friends and colleagues.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM one hour before the funeral. Services are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service, Durant. online condolences can be made at  www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
