Robert “Don” Moore
February 5, 1953 ~ January 27, 2023

Robert “Don” Moore was born February 5th, 1953 in Hobart, OK to James R. & Cora Etta (Sherrill) Moore. He passed away at his home on January 27th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held February 10th, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

Don spent his early childhood years in Hollis, OK. His family moved to Enid in 1968. Don attended Waller Jr High and Enid High School. It was at Enid High that he met Kathy Bamburg. They were married March 18, 1971 and there were 2 daughters born to this union, Karen & Kelli. The couple would later divorce but remained friends for the entirety of their lives.

Don followed in his fathers footsteps and begin working as a butcher for local grocers while still in high school. Later, he and a business partner would open the Okeene Processing Plant in Okeene, OK. He later changed occupations and worked in the oilfield for awhile in the early 80’s. After returning to cutting meat locally for quite some time, Don began his time as a USDA Meat Inspector. It was while working as a meat inspector that he got to travel and see a large portion of the US. He retired from the USDA in 2006.

Don enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He traveled to several bike rallies with family and friends. He was also a huge music lover with The Beatles being his very favorite band. In his downtime, Don enjoyed reading, especially anything written by favorite author, Stephen King. He also enjoyed watching OU or Kansas City Chief football. He enjoyed the outdoors camping and fishing. The Moore family reunion at Canton Lake was something he looked forward every year.

Don is survived by his loving daughters, Karen and husband Shawn Overstreet of Enid, Ok & Kelli and her husband David McNabb of Oakwood, Ok; “bonus” daughter, KayCee and husband Jayson Bartel of Fairview, OK; grandchildren Nick Bullock of Enid, Rebekah & husband Duane Mapel of Yukon, Ok and Parker Schmidt of Oakwood, Ok; great grandchildren Jacob Bullock, Oaklee Bullock, and Aleister Bullock all of Enid. He is also survived by brothers, James & wife Linda Moore of Hollis, Ok and Ronald & wife Delores Moore of Enid, and sister in law, Donna Moore of Norman, Ok along with many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, James R & Cora Etta Moore and brother Charles Moore.
