Bill Braddock Moore

Bill Braddock Moore
September 17, 1928 – January 01, 2019

Bill Braddock was born in Centerview, KS, as the first son of seven children to Ora E. and Jennie Lind (Braddock) Moore.

Upon graduating Spearville High School, Bill attended Kansas University, Emporia State University and Garden City Community College. From 1951-1953, he served in the US Army with the 28th Infantry Division as Platoon Sargent while stationed in Heilbronn, Germany.

He met his soul mate and partner for life, the beautiful, Nelda Lou Brock, and the two were married on December 19, 1954. Bill and Nelda soon became parents to handsome sons, Jeffrey Brock on October 10, 1955 and Timothy Braddock on September 29, 1957.

Bill had a successful professional sales career with the Hotel Dale, Camelot Inn, Ambassador Hotel, Sam’s Well Servicing Co., and Dick Moore, Inc., Oil Field Supply. He also thrived as the Executive Director for the Guyman Chamber of Commerce, and as manager of the Convention and Tourist Division for the Metro Tulsa Chamber of Commerce. After 19 years of service with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce International Business Development, Trade and Investment Division, Bill, retired in 2003. Soon after retiring, Bill, enjoyed a second career as a boot salesman with Langston’s Western Wear and also sold custom cowboy hats with Steamwinders of Oklahoma City.

Bill had a passion for many creative hobbies that included writing award winning poetry, free hand painting, wood sculpting walking canes, knife making, singing, dancing. One of his favorite pass times was cheering on the OU Sooners!

He will be missed from the Moore Family Reunions where he shared memories and made others smile with his one of a kind laugh! Bill will be remembered for the love he cherished with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and his furry four-legged companions Abby, Burr and Koda.

He truly loved the Lord, and was a faithful member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.

 He is preceded in death by his parents; his lovely wife of 37 years Nelda; sister Oralee; brother Dick, and sons Jeff and Tim.

Those left to treasure his memory are grandchildren Ashley, Brandi Niccole, Amanda Brooke, Jeffrey Joseph (Audrey), Jeffrey Brock; great-grandchildren Christopher, Justyc, Jaemyn, Ella, Jayda, Ausha, and Anaya all of Oklahoma City, OK. Brothers and sisters Tom Moore (Jackie) of Edmond, OK; Jeanette Taylor (Melvin) of Liberty, MO; Jim Moore (Millie) of Cloudcroft, NM, and Jane Scoville (Larry) of Manhattan, KS. Sister-in-law Pat of Burneyville, OK; and an abundance of extended family and friends.
