Thank You For Your Service!

Lynn (Funk) Monroe

Oct. 17, 1956 ~ March 13, 1999

MONROE Lynn was born Oct. 17, 1956. She died March 13, 1999.

Lynn grew up in Antlers, OK and moved to the Choctaw area as a teen and lived in El Reno.

At the age of 30, she joined the Army Airborn Unit. Before her honorable discharge, she had acquired many medals and awards in marksmanship, cooking and culinary arts. She had 30 jumps and was admired and trusted by her friends and commanders.

Lynn was a loving mother, a special sister, a special friend to many and a loving wife. We were all drawn by her magnetic smile, her deep brown eyes and her glowing personality. We will all miss her endless love and caring ways.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Monroe of El Reno; her sisters, Virginia Evans of Cushing, OK, Margy Miller of Choctaw; her brother, Robert Funk of Norman; her son, Gordon Lee George of Choctaw; her daughter, Lisa Funk of OKC; her step-children, April and Jake Monroe of El Reno; her niece, Echo and nephews, James and Jeremy and her precious granddaughter, Niki Lynn Funk, her aunts she adored and a multitude of friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her Grandma Richardson, mother and father, Anne & Robert Funk.

We love you, Lynn. Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel.
