Dr. Jack M. Mogg

???? ~ June 11, 2009 | Age 79

Dr. Jack M. Mogg, age 79, passed away on June 11, 2009 in Houston, Texas. A memorial service was held June 16, 2009 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, Houston, Texas. His ashes will be interned at the Greenwood Cemetery at Ft. Worth, Texas at a later date.

Jack, the son of Jake and Allie Mogg, grew up in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

He attended Oklahoma State University and received as B.S. in Mathematics.

He served his country in the Army Signal Corps during the Korean Conflict and then returned to college to earn a Masters in Statistics at Oklahoma State University and later earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering at Texas A.& M.

Jack's career included work in the Aerospace Industry in Florida, California and Texas before he joined the staff as professor at the University of Houston where he taught for 25 years.

After his retirement, he lead a fullfilled life during which he was an avid golfer, playing bridge, reading, discussing politics and enjoying his family.

He was a quiet man with a great deal of ability and a determination to succeed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Mogg; and sister, Pat Strickland of Oklahoma.

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Jennifer Mogg and husband of Fall River, Massachusetts; son, Dr. Randy Mogg of Coloumbus, Ohio; Freddy Mogg of Houston, Texas; their mother, Trudy Mogg; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his brothers, Foster Mogg, El Reno, Oklahoma; Bobby Mogg of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and sister Mary Marshall of Arlington, Texas; many nephews, nieces and friends.

He will be missed.
