Gerald Eugene Modena

Gerald Eugene Modena
November 13, 1946 ~ May 6, 2017

Jerry "Moe" Modena passed from this life Saturday, May 6, 2017 comfortably at his home with his loving wife by his side. A memorial service will be held at the Woodward Moose Lodge on May 25, 2017 at 11:00 am.

Jerry was born on November 13, 1946 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Chet and Ester (Carey) Modena. He grew up in Woodward until moving to La Mirada, California where he graduated high school. Jerry served in the United States Army until 1972. He was self employed as a Sign Painter, painting murals all over the United States. Many still exist today. He was also a pin striper, until he retired and worked for Wal-Mart.

Jerry was one of the original members of the Woodward Rodders, a Past Post Commander of the VFW, and held many chair"s at the Moose Lodge. He loved spending time with his wife of 30 years, Alice Modena on gambling trips, fishing trips with their friends Chris and Becky Hobbs, or anything they could do together.

The joys in his life were spending time with his son, Jeremy, working on their 1948 Sedan Delivery Truck, or anything that involved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Modena of the home; son, Jeremy Modena and wife Olivia and their children, Caitlin; Bayden; and Chris all of Woodward; stepson, Tye Whipple and wife Patricia; and their children, Sidney and Sheena; two daughters, Marie Wheeler and her children Veronica, Ronnie, and Dalton; Tresas Modena and her children, Megan and Chandra; one sister, Charlee Holley and husband Tom of Arizona; one brother, Ronnie Modena and wife Donna of Tennessee; eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and as many friends as anyone would ever have.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Ester Dobrinski; Chet and Joyce Modena; grandparents and one daughter, Jodi (Stafford) Harrington.

Jerry never met a stranger and it didn"t take long before you were considered a friend.
