Lois Fay (Martin) Mitchell

January 26, 1943 ~ July 10, 2019

Lois Fay (Martin) Mitchell was called home by her lord and savior on July 10, 2019 at the age of 76 in Seiling, Oklahoma. Lois was born on January 26, 1943 to Gerald and Alice Martin in Woodward, Oklahoma. She attended Woodward Public Schools where she graduated and then furthered her education at the Woodward Beauty College. Here she found her passion as a cosmetologist. Lois worked at different salons around town throughout her life along with her career at the Mutual of Omaha.

On December 29, 1984, Lois was married to the final love of her life James Jim Edward Mitchell in Woodward, Oklahoma, which is where she remained a resident of until she moved to Seiling a month before her passing to be closer to family.

Lois loved spending time with her family, especially playing bingo with her grandkids. She also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies while coloring or mastering crossword puzzles and word searches. Lois was also a member of the River of Life Church where she enjoyed the praise and worship of her heavenly father.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Jim Mitchell; father Gerald Martin; mother Alice Martin; three sisters: Freida Nagel, Geraldine “Jerry” Bates, Orpha Quimby; one brother Jim Martin and her son Lee Whitley.

She is survived by one sister, Marlene Hunter of Oklahoma City; her three children: son Earl Whitley of Enid, daughter Jennifer Patterson of Mooreland, daughter Julie Cope and husband Rodney of Seiling; nine grandchildren: Heidi Whitehorse and husband Ryan of Norman, Todd Whitley of Enid, Haley Whitley of Enid, Timmy Lieswald and wife Brittany of Woodward, Jayden Patterson of Mooreland, Rylan and Keeli Cope of Woodward, Jassidy and Rayner Cope of Seiling; along with several great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2019 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel.
