Clinton Kelly Mitchell

March 20, 1924 ~ Jan. 17, 2008

A memorial service for Clinton Kelly Mitchell, 83, of Enid will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Kevin Ratterman will officiate.

He was born March 20, 1924, in Cherokee to Frank Finis and Marie Jenieve Scherer Mitchell and died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School and attended Oklahoma State University. During World War II, he served in the European Theater with the Air Force. He owned and operated Kelly Diamond Jewelers for many years and later worked at Jackson Jewelers. He married Judy Wheeler in September 1978 in Enid. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Judy, of the home; one daughter, Kelly Ann Brewster of Texas; one stepson, Mike Wheeler of Katy, Texas; one brother, Michael Mitchell of Enid; three sisters, Ora Lee Kruse and Mary Haselwander, both of Enid, and Lorraine Dolan of Kerrville, Texas; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by two sons, one sister and one brother.
