K. Leroy Miller
November 24, 1919 ~ September 12, 2017

Funeral service for Leroy is 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Wakita United Methodist Church. Viewing is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2017, at the church with family present.

Memorials may be given to the church or Community Health Center, through the funeral home. 

K. Leroy Miller was born on the farm in Grant County Nov. 24, 1919, to Edna Pearl Hensinger Miller and Guy Fuller Miller, and passed from this life at the Wakita Community Health Center Sept. 12, 2017. 

He attended Grand Valley School, graduated from Wakita High School in 1937, and attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa.

Leroy was inducted into the Army Air Corp July 1942, and served until November 1945. He was stationed in England, France and Germany.

He married Mary Jane Long Dec. 14, 1947.

He farmed in the Wakita area and raised wheat and registered Polled Hereford cattle.

He was a member of the Wakita United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees . 

He was a school board member, Co-op member, was a member of the American Legion and Oklahoma Polled Hereford Association. 

Winters were often spent in Harlingen, Texas.

After the passing of Mary Jane in 1993, he married a former college sweetheart, Elsie Tucker who also preceded him in death.

He resided at the Wakita Community Health Center for the last six years.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Wade and husband, Tom of Wakita; Nancy Wilson and husband, Dan of Medford; Karen Reid and husband, Cranston of Lubbock, Texas; and Beth Young and husband, Richard of El Campo, Texas; six grandchildren, Travis Wilson and wife, Kelly; Kristal Evans and husband, Kirk; Chris Reid and wife, Jamie; David Reid; Karalisa Sellers and husband, Lamar; and Kaylyn Gustafson and husband, Kenny; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie and Carter Wilson; Seth, Isaac and Talia Reid; Wilson Evans; and Crockett Pearl Sellers.

In honor of Leroy's favorite color, everyone is asked to wear something red!
