Donald L. Miller

Donald L. Miller went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 14,2013. Mr. Miller was born on July 2, 1935 to William and Flossie Miller in Lawton, Oklahoma. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife, his children, and grandchildren.

Mr. Miller married Irene Hyder September 3, 1955 in Las Cruses, NM. He served in U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. After his military service he went to work for the U. S government at Ft. Sill , Oklahoma. He worked in the Civil Service field, retiring after 29 years. Mr. Miller was an avid fisherman. For most of his life, one of his most cherished memories was fishing with his family and friends. As a young man he was also a very accomplished pool player. He loved watching the Sooners. Mr. Miller adored his wife's family, who from day one treated him as one of their own. But most of all, he loved his wife of 59 years, his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Spencer Mullins of Duncan; son, Bill and Alana Miller of Luther, son, Frank Miller of Lawton, daughter, Donna Crook of Lawton, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Valerie Miller of Elgin, son, Larry Miller of Tucson, AZ, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Charlotte Moore of Lawton, daughter, Linda Miller of Duncan; a sister, Genoria Bump of Moore; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters, Mildred Horton, Dorothy Prescott and Margie Moore; and a brother, Cecil Miller.
