Diane Ruth (Backes) Michaels
November 20, 1949 ~ February 3, 2021

Diane Ruth Michaels, 71, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on February 3, 2021. She was born on November 20, 1949 in Queens, New York to Joe and Ruth Backes. She graduated from Bellport High School in New York and married the love of her life, Edward “Ed” Michaels on August 23, 1969 in Brookhaven, New York.

Diane and Ed traveled the world together while living in Turkey, Rantoul, Illinois, England, and Oklahoma. They had four children together and Diane was a homemaker for a while. When living in Oklahoma she worked for United Design in Noble. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards, playing the game spoons, doing crafts, bowling, and playing darts. Diane was the greatest wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

Diane is survived by her husband Edward; daughters Stacey and Jennifer; son Daniel and wife Amanda; grandchildren Joseph, Robert, Leo, Jaden, and Bree; brother Joseph Backes; friends Jackie Sheppard, Cease Crawford, Susanne Bellocchio, Joe Centrone and many others; and two pets, her dog Roxie and her cat Cleopatra.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Ruth Backes; daughter Christina Michelle; and brothers Ronald Backes and Douglas Backes.
