Bernardine (Mahl) Merz-Kincaid
September 10, 1926 ~ March 4, 2016

Bernardine Merz was born September 10, 1926 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Katherine and Andrew Mahl. She passed away March 4, 2016 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 24 days.

Bernardine attended Holy Family Catholic School at Canute, Oklahoma. She was married to Raymond Edward Merz at Holy Family on August 28, 1946 and they lived north of Canute until 1973 when they moved to Elk City to make their home. Raymond passed away in 2007 and she later married Dick Kincaid.

Bernardine was a gifted Artist and served as President of the Elk City Art Guild. She loved animals and her family and never met a stranger. Bernardine was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she was a member of the Women's Guild and helped with the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 1 son, Danny Merz, 4 brothers, Eugene, Joey, Eddie and Leon Mahl, and 5 sisters, Raphael Schreck, Cornelia, Marie Scheidmantel, Pauline Kamphaus, RayGene Anderson.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Greteman & husband, Doyle, Lindsay, OK, Gui Merz & wife, Mary, Glendale, AZ, Brian Merz & wife, Janet, Elk City, OK, Sonja Davis & husband, Dennis, Norman, OK; 10 grandchildren, Blaine Greteman, Autumn Ledbetter, Stacy Merz, Grant Merz, Kelby Merz, Jared Merz, Dustin Chervenka, Tessa Gutierrez, Sarah Merz and Shelly McGarry, 14 great grandchildren, a sister, Dolores, McAllen, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
